Monroe Edwin Price (1938- ) was the editorial assistant for American Heritage Publishing Company (1960-61), law clerk to associate justice Potter Stewart of the Supreme Court (1964-65), special assistant to the Labor Department secretary (1965-66), professor at the UCLA School of Law (1967-84) and in 1982, dean of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. He also served as the deputy director for California Indian Legal Services (1968-77). The collection consists of papers relating to Price's work in connection with the case of Crawford Los Angeles Unified School District in the Los Angeles Superior Court. vs.

Crawford et al. v. Board of Education of the City of Los Angeles et al. was a case in which the California Supreme Court ordered the Los Angeles Unified School District to formulate a feasible plan to desegregate its schools.
